Simply the best Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. It's not often I'm in the NE but it's worth the drive to eat here. Really good flavours and satisfying sizes.
Most other Vietnamese restaurants are really bland but here, you'll find fresh ingredients, nice seasoning, tender meat and an assortment of sauces to use.
Would recommend either their Pho or vermicelli bowl. Definitely will come back for more! -

The soup here is served incredibly hot. So hot to the point that after I put my beansprouts in they cooked and became soft, lol. Don't really have a problem with that but it just makes eating quickly a hassle. The server and the owner were nice.
I ordered bun bo hue and it was alright. There was a strange after taste that settled in my mouth after eating it for a bit so I had to stop and didn't finish the bowl. The soup was good but the meat was really tough and chewy, and the noodles were so soft that I didn't even have to chew them - they basically were mush.
Used to come here a lot for the dry noodle dish, but that's begun to taste a little weird too. Prices are better than other places, but all in all this place is alright. -

A dish I'm always compelled to try if it's on the menu is Beef Satay. I still hold number 52 at Bagolacs the best I've ever had, but Mekong's spicy beef number 19 gives it a run for its money.
Very nice flavour and really affordable at around $7 for a large. The restaurant is relatively simple and service is OK, but the prices and food quality make Mekong a great spot for a good meal if your in the area. -

Our favorite authentic Viet restaurant in Calgary. Everyone that I've recommended to visit this place loves it. It's just a small hole in the wall but it's great and for very reasonable prices. There is a lot of regulars there, which speaks volume. Try it, you may be one.
